Internship Opportunities

Leadership Internship

(Remote - Based in Eastern Time Zone)

Immediate start date.

All internships require a six-month minimum commitment with the opportunity for extension.

The Leadership Intern will assist in writing a chapter on diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural competence, and leadership for a new textbook on leadership for public health and healthcare leaders. 

 

This textbook and the accompanying set of diverse and accessible learning experiences and resources will provide a solid foundation for the practice of leadership in organizations. The intended users of this book will be candidates for MHA, DrPH, and MPH degrees, and leaders in healthcare, healthcare administration, and public health seeking to develop and/or evolve their leadership practice.

 

Internship projects may include:

  • Conducting research and literature reviews

  • Assisting with the editing and preparation of the chapter and accompanying materials

  • Assisting with duties related to the production of the chapter and accompanying materials

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Proven success in a fast-paced, independent work environment

  • Organizational skills and capacity for effectively managing multiple tasks

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence

  • Ability to work with people of various ages and backgrounds

  • Ability to work proactively and independently and see projects through to successful completion

  • Ability to work well individually and in a small, collaborative team environment

  • Intercultural competence in diverse, international settings

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and presentation ability

Terms:

  • This internship offers a stipend for the first six-month period, with payment upon completion of project deliverables. 

  • Interns gain valuable professional development, skills, and experience, mentoring, and networking.

  • You can anticipate a range of 5-15 hours of work per week, including some evenings and weekends; hours are variable, somewhat flexible, and dependent on current and upcoming projects.

  • Your work location is flexible. The firm and its project schedule operate out of Durham, NC, USA in the Eastern time zone.

  • Interns provide their own computer and other supplies and equipment needed to complete project deliverables.
