Diversity: Characteristics that make individuals and groups unique and different from each other, including identity markers, personalities, ways of thinking, ideas, and perspectives.

Equity: Fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people, while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of people from certain groups.

Inclusion: Actions to create an environment in which everyone is and feels welcomed, respected, valued, and supported to fully participate.

Belonging: The inherent need to be an accepted member of a group and an important part of something greater than ourselves. The group could be a family, friendship circle, workplace, religious group, or identity/affinity group, for example.
